Private Tours in Bhutan
"Bhutan is nestled in the folds of the eastern Himalayas"
Private tours in Bhutan offer a personalized and immersive way to explore the kingdom’s rich culture, stunning landscapes, and unique traditions. Unlike group tours, private tours are tailored to the preferences and interests of the traveler, providing flexibility in itineraries, accommodations, and activities.
Here are some key features of private tours in Bhutan:
- Customized Itineraries
Travelers can design their journey, choosing destinations like Paro, Thimphu, Punakha, and remote regions such as Bumthang or Phobjikha Valley. Activities can range from cultural sightseeing, temple visits, and nature hikes to special experiences like farmhouse stays or spiritual retreats. - Exclusive Guide and Transport
Private tours come with a dedicated licensed guide and driver, ensuring personalized attention and deeper insights into Bhutanese culture, history, and local customs. - Luxury and Boutique Options
Depending on the budget, guests can opt for luxury accommodations at high-end resorts like Amankora or Six Senses, or choose boutique hotels and traditional homestays for an authentic experience. - Special Interests and Activities
Tours can be themed around trekking, birdwatching, photography, wellness (including meditation and hot stone baths), or even cultural festivals like the Paro Tsechu. - Seamless Travel Planning
Since Bhutan requires all tourists (except those from India, Bangladesh, and the Maldives) to book through licensed tour operators, private tours ensure all travel permits, visa processing, and Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) arrangements are handled smoothly. - Privacy and Flexibility
Ideal for honeymooners, families, or solo travelers, private tours allow for a relaxed pace, unscheduled stops for photography, or even last-minute changes to plans.

BHUTAN TOUR ITINERARY
(07 Nights 08 Days)
Day 01: Arrive Paro and drive to Thimphu (D)
The flight into Bhutan takes you over the great Himalayas, offering the scintillating scenery of the world’s highest glacial peaks. As you enter Paro Valley, you will see the silvery Pa Chu (Paro River) meandering down the valley, the Paro Dzong (fortress), and Ta Dzong (watch tower). On arrival, received by our representative and transferred to the hotel.
Before reaching Chhuzom, after crossing Isuna village, Tachog Lhakhang also known as Tachogang becomes visible. It is located on the base of a mountain along the Paro-Thimphu highway. To visit the temple one has to cross the Pachhu (Paro river) using a bridge built with iron chains.
Tachogang meaning “temple of the hill of excellent horse” was built in the 14th century by Thangtong Gyalpo after he had a vision of the spiritual horse Balaha-an emanation of Avalokiteshvara, while he was meditating.
According to myth, he decided thereupon to build a temple at the current spot including one of his famous iron bridges. The original bridge was washed away by floods in 1969 and a traditional style bridge with iron chains was restored in 2005. Thangtong Gyalpo was a great architect who built 108 iron bridges throughout Tibet and Bhutan.
The temple is privately run by the descendants of Thangtong Gyalpo.
