The Paro Festival, held annually every spring, stands as one of the most vibrant and culturally significant events in Paro Dzongkhag (district).
The Tsehchu, a key highlight of the festival, draws visitors from neighboring districts, all eager to partake in the celebrations. On the final day, in the early hours of the morning, monks unveil a magnificent thangkha (embroidered painting), the Guru Throngdel, within the dzong. These Thongdrols exemplify Buddhist artistry at its finest and never fail to captivate onlookers. Such is their sanctity that witnessing a Thongdrol is believed to absolve viewers of their sins.
The Paro Bhutan Festival is scheduled to take place from the 8th to the 12th of April 2025.
